The 32nd Jamaica Day Family, Food, and Music Festival is scheduled for August 24th and 25th at Brampton Sports Park. Anticipation is high following a lively press conference held on August 13th at Brampton City Hall, where key details of the event were unveiled.

The press conference began with a warm introduction by Sharon Campbell, a dedicated supporter and long-time participant of the festival. Brampton City Councillor Rod Power took the stage to highlight the strong collaboration between Experience Brampton and Jamaica Day, underscoring the significance of the festival to the local community.

Festival Directors Cornel Davis and Hewitt Loague, representing the non-profit Sunrise Talent Program, spoke about the festival’s roots and its positive influence on Jamaican youth in Toronto. Loague explained that the festival was conceived as a response to the negative impact of certain music trends from Jamaica in the late 80s, aiming instead to celebrate family, friends, and uplifting music that reflects the best of Jamaican culture.
